When you're doing something that hasn't been done before there's no road map, no one who can lead you along the way and warn you about the obstacles in your path. You just have to start, and navigate the obstacles as and when they arise. Right now the shadow side of this project is being keenly felt by both of us. The shadow of sexual harm and relationship abuse is strong and deep. This work is about our amazing ability as humans to heal ourselves and each other, but this work exists because of the human ability to cause so much harm.
Is it safe for two women to drive around in a van that's visibly about sexual harm and relationship abuse? Is it kind to mention 'injustice' when we're not here to hold all of the many types of injustice out there. How can we be bold, but safe, and kind?
